Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Tribute at Kelly Strayhorn Theater (Mon., 1/16/23)

The Kelly Stryahorn Theater is celebrating the life, legacy, and activism of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through their annual MLK community event. The theater’s lobby will feature family-friendly activities with Assemble, The Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation, The Alloy School, Latino Community Center, and The Union Project. They will pay tribute to the civil rights legacy of Dr. King and Pittsburgh activists past and present. There will also be performances from Pittsburgh artists Hill Dance Academy Theatre, Alumni Theater Company, K-Theatre Dance Complex, and Jacquea Mae. Admission charge is Pay What Moves You ($0 to $25). Noon to 3 p.m. 5941 Penn Ave., East Liberty.
