1) He’s the good-looking cowboy from right here in western PA! You can bet the joint will be jumping when Butler native and diehard Steelers fan Bret Michaels revisits his home turf for a gig at The Pavilion at Star Lake. Michaels, born Bret Michael Sychak, has won fame in practically every way available. In addition to the solo career he launched in 1998, he’s been a founding member and longtime lead vocalist of the glam-metal rockers Poison. He wrote, directed, and starred in the movie A Letter from Death Row, with his friend and colleague Charlie Sheen. Michaels has even had his own reality TV shows. Expect to hear him doing new songs like “Back in the Day” along with numbers from his repertoire (maybe “The App Song”), vintage Poison hits, and more. The show is a highlight of Bret’s Parti-Gras 2.0 tour. Guest list for the Parti includes Dee Snider, Lou Gramm, Don Felder, and Chris Janson. 7 p.m. 665 PA Route 18, Burgettstown. (M.V.)
2) The North Side Music Festival started Friday and continues today with a whole host of performers on stages and venues on the North Side. Today’s highlights include: Tiny Wars (9 p.m.) and Forestry Division (10 p.m.) at the First National Bank Stage at Foreland (Foreland and Middle St.), NASH.V.ILL (6 p.m.), Highmark/AHN Park Stage (Allegheny Commons Park East); and Beagle Brothers (8 p.m.), 91.3 WYEP Stage at Allegheny City Brewing (507 Foreland St). Festival continues Sunday with Gospel day.
3) The Squirrel Hill Night Market returns to Murray Avenue. Food trucks, vendors, crafters, kids activities, neighborhood restaurants, live music, and more attractions will be on hand at this pop-up street festival on Murray Ave. 6-10 p.m. Free. Murray Avenue beginning at Forbes.
