1) Rachel Whitcomb—singer, songwriter, and music education professor at Duquesne University—headlines the Calliope Songwriters Open Stage at Club Cafe. Calliope, which promotes folk music in Pittsburgh, and John Hayes, who used to host an open mic night at the late Bloomfield Bridge Tavern through Calliope, are helping to organize this monthly open stage, which falls on the first Tuesday of every month. The organizers welcome all acts and genres. Sign up at 7 p.m., performances begin at 8 p.m. No cover. 56-58 S.12th St., South Side. (CM)
2) Tonight at the PPG Paints Arena our Pens face off against the Vegas Golden Knights. They go against their favorite former teammate, Golden Knights goalie, Marc-André Fleury. Next up is an away game Friday against the Dallas Stars. The Pens have worked their way up to third place in the NHL’s Metropolitan Division, right behind the Washington Capitals. 7 p.m. 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.
