1) Are you ready for Household Stories, a melodic,-hard driving rock band that claims diverse musical influences, from the Beatles and Neil Young to Nada Surf and The Smashing Pumpkins. The band just released their second EP, Blueprints, recorded at Mr. Smalls’ studio. Special guests are Antimony and Steve Hawk. Club Cafe. 56-58 S. 12th St., S. 12th St., South Side.
2) Quantum Theatre’s latest production, John Gabriel Borkman, continues tonight through Feb. 24. The play is a cautionary tale of capitalism and it’s personal costs. Written by famous Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, the play is directed by Martin Giles. 7 p.m. Hart Building. 6022 Broad St., East Liberty.
3) Dancing Queen takes the stage at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille tonight to get the people dancin’. 9 p.m. 285 Northgate Dr.. Warrendale.
4) If you live a little farther out from the city center and wish to ice skate in a sylvan setting, then Allegheny County’s North and South Park’s ice skating rinks are “your ticket to fun!” The rinks offer both free and paid skating lessons, as well as skate rentals. Today’s sessions are from: 9 – 11 a.m., noon – 3 p.m.; 4:30-7 p.m. and 7:30-10 p.m. North Park rink is on Pearce Mill Road; South Park rink is on Buffalo Drive.
