Cool Picks brings you the best in Pittsburgh entertainment every day!
1) Celtic Women are in town. What a great combination. “Celtic Woman” teaming up with the Pittsburgh Symphony for “A Christmas Celebration–The Symphony Tour” joins the angelic-voiced women (their performance specials are popular on PBS) with the power of a live, dynamic symphony orchestra. 7:30 p.m. Heinz Hall. 600 Penn Ave., Downtown Cultural District.
2) South Florida hip-hop artist, Ace Hood, takes the stage at Altar Bar tonight. Also riding with Hood tonight are Double A-B, Lucius, J. Dunlap. 7 p.m. 1620 Penn Ave., Strip District.
3) Savoy Restaurant’s Savoy Jazz Mondays are hosted by the Roger Humphries Trio. Tonight’s featured jazz artist is noted guitarist, Jimmy Ponder. 5-9 p.m. No cover. 2623 Penn Ave., Strip District.
4) Macy’s Holiday Windows downtown make for a fun family outing, especially combined with a burger and a shake from Macy’s (previously Kaufmann’s) Tic Toc Restaurant. An old tradition from Kaufmann’s days, the well-loved Tic Toc Shop is now the Tic Toc Restaurant under Macy’s shingle. Note the limited hours (Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.- 3 p.m., 1st floor). Try a grilled Swiss and bacon on sourdough bread! 400 Fifth Ave., Downtown.
