1) Highmark Holiday Pops is a grand event featuring the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the Mendelsshon Choir and many talented guest artists. Enjoy popular Christmas carols and holiday music including: “Sleigh Ride,” “White Christmas,” and selections from The Nutcracker. Daniel Meyer conducts for the festive celebration, there’s even a visit by a jolly man in red from the North Pole. Make sure to view the grand splendor of Heinz Hall with all it’s holiday decorations and a 25 foot tall Christmas tree in the lobby. 2:30 & 7:30 p.m. Last day. 2) The Pittsburgh CLO presents A Musical Christmas Carol, which includes all of our favorite holiday characters: Ebeneezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, and Tiny Tim. The CLO stages the production with dazzling special effects, great singing and acting and a heaping helping of holiday charm. Written by Charles Dickens. 2 & 6 p.m. Half price tickets for kids 3-14 (sponsored by Macy’s). Ends today. Byham Theater. 101 Sixth Street, Downtown Cultural District.
3) The Steelers play their most important game of the season so far, against the Cincinnati Bengals at Heinz Field at 1 p.m. You could create a fun combination; watching the Steeler’s and skiing at Hidden Valley Resort.. You can catch the game at Glaciers Pub or Hops Pub. A little Steelers, a little skiing or snow boarding, and a beverage of choice, oh yeah! One Craighead Drive, Hidden Valley, PA.
4)Penguins Pond is open at the new Highmark Stadium at Station Square. Skate with a fantastic view of downtown Pittsburgh and the three rivers. Skate rental available. 7 a.m. – 11 p.m. 125 w. Station Square Dr.
