1) Our scrappy Penguins take the ice against the Washington Capitals tonight in a hockey showdown at the Consol Energy Center. Uptown.
2) Coheed and Cambria, whose music is a mix of progressive, punk and metal rock, are in concert tonight at Stage AE. Joining them: Between the Buried and Me, Russian Circles. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. North Shore.
3) Frontier Ruckus rolls in At Club Cafe tonight. What’s all the “Ruckus” about? The band plays American folk rock music with strong vocals and lyrics from front man Matthew Milia. Special guests are Sephus Lee and the Brushfire. 8 p.m.. 56 S. 12th St., South Side.
4) Stage Right Community Theatre presents An Evening of One Acts, a collection of three top plays from the Pittsburgh New Works Festival. All of the plays are written by area playwrights. La Vitra Loco is written by Mark Yochum and directed by Joe Eberle. Matt Henderson wrote Strutting and Fretting, Matthew R. Mlynarski directing. Blanket of Stars is by F.J. Hartland with direction from Deborah Wein. Due to some adult content these plays are not recommended for children. theatrical run is Feb 7-9 and 14-16. 8 p.m. Boyd Community Center. 1220 Powers Run Rd., O’ Hara Township.
