1) The CMA Songwriters Series is in town featuring “Country” music artists, Rodney Atkins & Luke Laird, hosted by Bob DiPiero. The evening’s activities will feature storytelling and performances. 8 p.m. Hard Rock Cafe, Station Square.
2) Jersey Boys continues its run at the Benedum Center. This multi-award winning production, based on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons goes live again tonight at 7:30 p.m. Through September 23rd. Downtown Cultural District.
3) Catch William Elliott Whitmore, singer/songwriter/guitarist, at Club Cafe. Special guests are Samantha Crain, Bluebird Midwest. 8 p.m. 56-58 South 12th Street, South Side.
4) With some nice late summer days upon us, a quick an easy nature escape is Allegheny County’s Hartwood Acres Park. With 629 acres, the park’s features include wide, smooth walking trails, cross country trails and a fenced-in dog run where dogs can play. Hemlock Grove in Hemlock Court behind the Mansion, with the feel of the Maine woods as a backdrop, is featuring Cue Ball (Irish Blues) from 6-9 p.m. Bring a blanket or chair. A suggested donation of $5/adult is requested; kids free.
