1) The Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival opens today. The festival features 10 days of free art and music shows! There’s also hands-on arts activities for kids and theater productions. Don’t forget the festival food including gyros, grilled chicken kabobs, funnel cakes and plenty of deep-fried food items. Tonight’s featured musical act is pop-rockers Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeroes. 7:30 p.m. Festival runs through June 16. Opens at noon daily. Point State Park and Gateway Center, Downtown.
2) The Pittsburgh JazzLive International opens its three-day run with the JazzLive Crawl. Numerous bars in the Cultural District, Downtown Market Square, Strip District and North Shore will all be featuring some great local jazz bands and entertainers. 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. No Cover.
3) “Excuse My French” is the name of actor and comedian Tracy Morgan’s latest stand-up act. The tour makes its Pittsburgh stop at Carnegie Library Music Hall. 8 p.m. 510 E. 10th St., Munhall.
4) Unblurred: First Fridays on Penn Avenue features a variety of visual and performing arts at galleries, clubs and restaurants. 6 p.m. – 2 a.m. along Penn Avenue (4800-5500) in the Garfield, Bloomfield and Friendship neighborhoods. Most events are free.
5) “Italian Night” with Vito DiSalvo & We Three featuring special guest, international recording star, Giorgia Fumanti are on the stage at the South Park Amphitheater as part of the Allegheny County Summer Concert Series. 7:30 p.m. Free.
6) The first Friday of the summer months the Frick Pittsburgh has it’s First Friday’s concerts. Tonight’s featured performers are Pittsburgh Opera Resident Artists. They will perform favorite opera arias and ensembles, plus Broadway numbers and some classical pieces. While there check out the antique cars in their car and carriage museum. The Frick Art Museum is open during the event. Music, art and antique cars all for a suggested donation per adult of only $5. No admission charge for children. You can also purchase food and beverages from their cafe which is housed in a quaint cottage on the grounds or bring your own picnic food. Music starts at 7 p.m. 7227 Reynolds St., Point Breeze.
7) Summer Sounds Concert Series continues with A Silent Film, a band from Oxford, England, who deliver a bold keyboard-driven, rock sound evocative of bands like Arcade Fire ( 7 p.m.). Pre-show music by Good Thing (Brittany Hautz and Ryan Williams) 6:15 p.m. Free. St. Clair Park, 135 N. Maple Ave., Greensburg.
