Thrash Metal Bash at Altar Bar (CPs Mon. 11/4/13)

1) If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing night out in Pittsburgh this evening, don’t go to Altar Bar. With a rock bill that includes Kreator, Overkill, and Warbringer, you know it’s going to be a head banger’s ball. Kreator is a German thrash metal band that’s been shredding for 30 years.  Overkill is another longtime heavy metal band rising out of New Jersey.  Last but not least is Warbringer, who’ve thrashed around California and the nation. 6:30 p.m. 1620 Penn Ave., Strip District.

2) Savoy Restaurant’s Savoy Jazz Mondays continues tonight with host band Roger Humphries’ RH Factor and also features the Escape to Love CD-release party for the debut album by Charlie G. Sanders. 6 – 10 p.m. No cover. 2623 Penn Ave., Strip District.

3)  Check out new and established talent at one of the city’s best open stage nights, Club Café’s AcoustiCafé. Bob Beach is the host of this  supportive and friendly event. No cover. 7 p.m. 56-58 S. 12th St., South Side.

4) It’s Global Mondays at Cappy’s Café in Shadyside with imported bottled beers for only $3. While there, team up an import with a bowl of their scrumptious chili. 5431 Walnut St.
