1) In honor of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, the Children’s Museum will host a day-long program of events dedicated to Dr. King’s memory and the battle for civil rights. Highlights of the many activities will be a reading of his speeches by children and adults (11 a.m. – 3 p.m.), a dance performance by members of Hill Dance Academy Theatre (2 p.m.), and Freedom Circle and Sing a Long of songs from the Civil Rights Movement with Sister IAsia (3 p.m.). 10 Children’s Way, Allegheny Square, North Side.
2) Savoy Restaurant’s Savoy Jazz Mondays continues tonight with saxophonist Yoko Suzuki’s Band. 6 – 10 p.m. No cover. 2623 Penn Ave., Strip District.
3) The Pens take on the Panthers (Carolina, not Pitt) in a 7 p.m. game at the Consol Energy Center. 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.
4) The Balcony Big Band is hitting only high notes in a Monday night performance at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille. 8 p.m. No cover. 285 Northgate Dr., Warrendale.
