Balcony Big Band at Jergel’s (CP’s Mon. 8/19/13)

1) The Balcony Big Band is hitting only high notes in a Monday night performance at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille. 8 p.m. No cover. 103 Slade Ln., Warrendale.

2)  Savoy Restaurant’s Savoy Jazz Mondays continues tonight with host band Roger Humphries Trio and Elevations, a jazz ensemble. 6 – 10 p.m. No cover. 2623 Penn Ave., Strip District.

3)  Check out new and established talent at one of the towns’ best open stage nights, Club Cafe’s AcoustiCafe. The supportive and friendly event is hosted by Paul Tabachneck . No cover. 7 p.m. 56-58 S. 12th St., South Side.

4) The Steelers take on the Redskins in D.C. tonight so stop by your favorite neighborhood bar for some wings and/or a burger and a cold one. Then kick back and enjoy the game.  In Squirrel Hill a few good places to fulfill this mission are the Squirrel Hill Cafe (5802 Forbes Ave.), Fanattics (1704 Shady Ave.) and Silky’s (1731 Murray Ave.). Kickoff is at 8 p.m.
