1) Savoy Restaurant’s Savoy Jazz Mondays continues tonight with the Roger Humphries Trio featuring vocalist Shawnee Lake. Humphries is one of Pittsburgh’s top percussionists. 6 – 10 p.m. No cover. 2623 Penn Ave., Strip District.
2) Four distinct musical personalities combine to make one of the world’s best string groups—the Takács Quartet. They originally formed in Hungary in 1975 and now call Boulder, Colo., home. Line up changes ensued over the years due to retirements and other circumstances, but the quartet has retained its reputation for innovative, high-quality performances and has received numerous awards and accolades. Tonight they are in Pittsburgh to play a concert as part of Chamber Music Pittsburgh’s performance series. 7:30 p.m. Carnegie Music Hall, 4400 Forbes Ave., Oakland.
3) The Balcony Big Band is hitting only high notes in a Monday night performance at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille. 7 p.m. No cover. 285 Northgate Dr., Warrendale.
