1) Ace Frehley, founding member and lead guitarist of the rock band Kiss until his departure in ’02, brings his Space Invaders tour to the Palace Theatre tonight. Frehely—honored by Guitar World as the 14th Greatest Metal Guitarist of All Time—performed as the costumed character Spaceman or Space Ace when he played with Kiss. Frehley’s latest album Space Invaders has reached the no. 9 position on the Billboard 200 album chart, the highest spot ever achieved by a current or past Kiss member for a solo album. 8 p.m. 21 West Otterman St., Greensburg.
2) What better way for a winery to celebrate its second anniversary than to invite folks to come on down and stomp some grapes! Pittsburgh Winery is doing just that and the staff members describe it beautifully: You “take off your shoes, jump in and stomp the grapes the old fashioned way. Feel the incredible sensation of the juice between your toes!” If that’s not enough, there will be food from Matteo’s restaurant, live music, and plenty of tasty wine. Noon – 3 p.m. The celebration starts up again at 9 p.m. with a concert by Cello Fury with Evan Gibb, and art work by Matthew Cummings. 2815 Penn Ave., Strip District.
3) Chuck Prophet was born in Whittier, California and has been a prolific rocker since the mid-’80s when he debuted with established rock outfit Green on Red. Prophet has played and recorded with Green on Red frequently ever since, releasing several albums with the group and a dozen more as a solo artist. His latest effort, 2012’s Temple Beautiful, was written as a tribute to his adopted hometown of San Francisco, an attempt to musically showcase the many facets of the city by the bay. While you probably haven’t heard Mr. Prophet on the radio, you may have heard his unique brand of rock on hit shows like True Blood, Californication, and Sons of Anarchy. Catch Chuck Prophet with his band, The Mission Express featuring Stephie Finch, Kevin White, Vicente Rodriguez, and James DePrato, at Club Cafe. 7 p.m. 56 S. 12th St. South Side.
4) The New York Rangers are in town to face off against the Pens tonight at 7 p.m. Consol Energy Center, 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.
