1) The Jaggerz, a noted Pittsburgh band that charted the 1970s no. 1 hit “The Rapper,” and once included Pittsburgh rock superstar Donnie Iris, play the Pepsi Cola Roadhouse. Also appearing: legendary blues musician Billy Price and rock’ n roll “lifer” Norm Nardini. An all-star Pittsburgh music lineup! Dinner Show. 5:30 p.m. 565 Rt. 18, Burgettstown.
2) Breath & Imagination, the latest production from City Theatre, begins its month-long run this evening. The world premiere of a moving new musical by Daniel Beaty, the story follows Roland Hayes from the dirt roads of Georgia to European stages where he becomes the first classically trained African-American vocalist to be enjoyed by international audiences. A story of ambition and spirituality. Directed by Darko Tresnjak, starring Jubilant Sykes (Roland Hayes), Kecia Lewis-Evans (Angel Mo’) with pianist/actor Tom Frey. 5:30 p.m. 1300 Bingham St., South Side.
3) Pittsburgh native, singer/songwriter, Brooke Annibale, brings her acoustic, pop folk sound to the early show at Club Cafe. Annabale is touring in advance of her upcoming album Words in Your Eyes, in which she explores new electronic orchestrations combined with sharp, crisp lyrics and wrapped in a framework of ambient sounds. Special guest Judith Avers. 7 p.m. 56-58 S. 12th St., South Side.
4) The 32nd annual Duquesne Light Home & Garden Show continues today through Sunday. Billed as the “largest home event in Pennsylvania,” the show is held every year at the David Lawrence Convention Center. The Home and Garden show features over 1,600 exhibitors and twice daily, jazz performances by the CAPA High School House Band (3 and 5 p.m.). Also see the Gettysburg 150: Travel Back in Time with a Union Army encampment from Pittsburgh’s own Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall and Museum. 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. 1000 Fort Duquesne Blvd., Downtown.
