1) Band of Horses, a Seattle indie-rock band formed in 2004 by singer/guitarist Ben Bridwell, brings its crystalline rock sound to Pittsburgh tonight. The band is touring in support of its latest release Acoustic at the Ryman. Special guest is Midlake. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Stage AE, 400 North Shore Dr., North Shore.
2) Lake Street Dive takes the stage tonight, generating heat from recent performances on “CBS This Morning,” “The Colbert Report,” and NPR’s “Morning Edition.” The band members, who met while students at Boston’s New England Conservatory of Music, named themselves after a street with many dive bars in trumpeter/guitarist Mike Olson’s hometown of Minneapolis. Their sound has touches of pop, Americana, jazz, and soul. Popular local singer/songwriter Brooke Annibale (pop/jazz/soul) opens the show. Great music in a beautiful sylvan setting at Hartwood Acres as part of the Allegheny County Summer Concerts Series. 7:30 p.m. 200 Hartwood Acres, Hampton and Indiana townships.
3) The City of Pittsburgh’s Bach, Beethoven and Brunch Classical Music Series offers a free concert today by The Matt Murchison Mutiny, whose site promises “Music without boundaries. Slogans without meaning.” This concert series runs every Sunday through Aug. 10 in Mellon Park from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Pack your own brunch basket or buy food at the park. Fifth and Shady Aves., Point Breeze/Squirrel Hill.
4) Our beloved Buccos take the diamond today against the Colorado Rockies. It’s also Kids Day with all fans 14 and under receiving a Kids Gregory Polanco Poster and a chance to run the bases after the game. 1:35 p.m. 115 Federal St., North Shore.
