Blake Plays Katz Plaza (CPs Tues., 9/2/14)

1) At Theater Square, renowned saxophonist Kenny Blake is the featured performer for this Tuesday’s jazz series right outside Backstage Bar, at Agnes Katz Plaza. His sound is a combination of traditional jazz with modern rhythm and blues.Swing, Latin, ballads, and standards are also musical components of Blake’s versatile repertoire. Blake, who’s released five solo CDs, has performed throughout the United State, Europe, and South Africa. No cover. 5 – 9 p.m. Corner of 7th Street and Penn Avenue, Cultural District.

2) It’s Bike Night at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille; get those Harleys, Hondas, and BMWs rolling. Entertainment by local rockers Lily Wine Affair. 8 p.m. No cover. 285 Northgate Dr., Warrendale.

3)  Getaway to the tropics with a trip to Brillobox for Tropical Tuesdays. There you’ll feel the trade winds (fans) soothe your overdue-for-a-vacation bones. Here’s a sampling of their specials: $3 select craft cans, $4 frozen drinks, $10 California bubble bath, $10 Eva Peron, $7 Fernet con cola, and $6 Coronita Margaveza.
