1) Art connoisseur/collector P.J. McArdle  has curated eight one-night shows composed of works from his collection—some of which date back to the 1920’s. Each exhibition is uniquely themed and have over 40 original works, beginning with this evenings show “Pershing, Picasso & Pittsburgh.” Louise Pershing was a noted Pittsburgh sculptor and painter who was also an avid art collector. Several of her modernist works will be shown. One of Pershing’s collection pieces, now in McArdle’s collection, is Two women running on a beach (Picasso, 1922, gouache on wood), is believed to be a Picasso original. It will be on exhibit for the first time at tonight’s show. There will be a new exhibit on the next seven Saturday nights. 6 to 9 p.m. John A. Hermann Memorial Art Museum, 318 Lincoln Avenue, Bellevue.

2) Actor/comedian/author D.L. Hughley is best known for success on several fronts—having his own sitcom, “The Hughley’s,” on ABC/UPN for four years, serving as the original host of BET’s “Comic View,” and being one of four stars in the Spike Lee documentary The Original Kings of Comedy. He’s also a syndicated drive time radio show host of “The D.L. Hughley Show,” but still finds time to get out on the road and keep his stand-up routine fresh. 7 (sold out) and 9:30 p.m. Pittsburgh Improv,  p.m. 166 E. Bridge St., The Waterfront, Homestead.
