Home for the Holidays Bash at Rex; Hurricanes vs. Pens (CPs Fri., 11/28/14)

1) Home for the Holidays is a big post-Thanksgiving event at Rex Theater featuring Jimmer Podrasky and the Redd-Ups. Set to appear with Podrasky are Greg Joseph, Rob James, Dave Minarik, and Gary Jacobs. Special guest is Mark Dignam. 7 p.m. 1602 E. Carson St., South Side.

2) The barometric pressure is dropping, a sure sign that the (Carolina) Hurricanes are heading into Pittsburgh tonight for a 7 p.m. face off against our Pens. Consol Energy Center, 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.

3) How about a heaping helpin’ of Corned Beef & Curry the night after Thanksgiving? No, we’re not talking about a food fusion entrée, but the popular Pittsburgh Irish band that has two Celts—John McCann and Todd Hartman—joined  by Bob Banerjee who on the band’s website is described as their “chief outsourced Indian immigrant.” Sounds like a fun time at Mullaney’s Harp and Fiddle  9 p.m. 2329 Penn Ave., Strip District.
