House of Hamill will be performing at the Song Space Concert Series tonight. The group’s music has been described as sophisticated, independent Celtic folk. The band includes Rose Baldino (fiddle and vocals), Brian Buchanan (fiddle, vocals, and guitar), and Caroline Browning (bass, mandolin and piano). The trio tours nationally, performing at Celtic festivals and established folk venues. The three musicians also tour with the band, Enter the Haggis, which means that House of Hamill is on the road a great deal. Their 2023 schedule will lead them to at least 28 states and 3 countries, including hosting a sold-out musical bus tour through the west of Ireland in October. A return tour of Ireland tour is scheduled for April 2024.
Located in the Shadyside neighborhood, Song Space at First Unitarian is a non-profit music series presenting American roots and world music performances by regional and national artists. Concerts are appropriate for all ages and are open to the public. Handicapped accessible. 7:30 pm. The progressive guitar duo, Pairdown, opens. For more information call (412) 621-8008 or on the web.
