1) Gallery Crawl in the Cultural District is happening tonight; it features visual arts, musical performances, and interactive exhibits. All events are free and take place at a variety of galleries, art spaces, and venues. Some galleries offer drinks and hors d’oeuvres. What a great way to sample some of Pittsburgh’s great arts and entertainment! Highlights of this Gallery Crawl include BLKNVMBR: A Renaissance Showcase which will feature music artists Mani Bahia & The Mob, Jrouz3, and Arie Cole.; an NFT Cocktail Bar; pop-up artist market; and a ticketed Crawl after Dark event with Benji. 5:30 – 10 p.m., Cultural District.
2) Killswitch Engage plays Stage AE. this evening. Killswitch Engage are a metalcore band formed by members of Overcast and Aftershock in Westerfield, Massachusetts, in 1999. After original vocalist Jesse Leach departed in 2002, Howard Jones (not the English musician) joined. The group released The End of Heartache in 2004. The eponymous song scored a Grammy nomination. Jones left, and Leach returned in 2012. Killswitch Engage’s latest release is Atonement, released in 2019. August Burns Red and Light the Torch open. Doors open 6:30 p.m. 400 North Shore Dr., North Shore. (C.M.)
DANCING WITH THE STARS: LIVE! Touring show at Benedum Center. Jan. 28 only, 8 p.m.
3) Tickets are going fast for the annual one-night-only visit of Dancing with the Stars: Live! Why such a rush for seats? Perhaps because ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” is insanely popular on TV to begin with, and the touring production features a live smorgasbord of every style of ballroom, club, or street dancing seen on the screen, and you just might see local celebrities dancing up there, too. Besides, the whole thing is a spinoff from BBC-TV’s “Strictly Come Dancing”—and if it’s British, it’s high culture, right? Benedum Center, 237 7th St., Cultural District. (M.V)
