1) Pittsburgh Cultural Trust continues its MNY Mellon Tuesday jazz series with drummer James Johnson III. He was mentored by jazz legend Roger Humphries at CAPA High School and has played with such notables as Ahmad Jamal, George Coleman, and James Moody. James is an Artist in Residence at the University of Pittsburgh School of Music. He also has a new album out, Full Circle. Backstage Bar at Theater Square. 5 p.m. No Cover. 655 Penn Ave, Cultural District.
2) Do you aspire to be the next great Winter Olympian or just looking for a good workout? Enjoy ice skating at the Citiparks’ Schenley Skating Rink. Set among beautiful pine trees, the rink also offers a picturesque view of Downtown Pittsburgh. 7 – 9 p.m., and 9:30 – 11:30 p.m. (Adults 18+) Skate rentals and lessons available. Overlook Drive, Schenley Park, Squirrel Hill.
