1) Stand-up comedian and actor, Jo Koy, fresh off his sting as host of the Golden Globes, is performing at PPG Paints Arena tonight. Koy frequently appeared as a panelist on the E! network’s late night show “Chelsea Lately” and has had six comedy specials released by Comedy Central and Netflix. Koy is a Filipino-American and a native of Tacoma, Washington. 8 p.m. 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.
2) The Pittsburgh Irish Festival is a renowned festival held each September, but they are having, in partnership with Irish Partnership Pittsburgh, a big pre-St. Patrick’s Day music and dance event named BRIGID. The event is described as, “A musical celebration of Brigid the Saint, of Brigid the Goddess, of Irish and Celtic Women, of light and Springtime, and it is a celebration of Irish and Celtic culture, history, the present, and our future.” Slated to perform on the music side of the event is The Brigideens ft. Eileen Ivers, The Bow Tides, and Ally the Piper, Dance performers include Morgan Bullock, The Step Sisters, Bell School of Irish Dance, and Shovlin Academy of Irish Dance. 2 and 7:30 p.m. August Wilson African American Cultural Center, 980 Liberty Ave., Cultural District. 3) Art connoisseur/collector Pat McArdle has curated eight one-night shows composed of works from his collection—some of which date back to the 1920’s. Each exhibition is uniquely themed and have over 40 original works. Tonight’s exhibition in the Live•Worship•Shop series features works from African and African American artists including: Carl “Dingbat” Smith, Bo Hill, Mr. Imagination, Amir Rashidd, Brown, Steve Smith, Lonnie Holley, Vanessa German, Inerie Mosley, William Palmer, Delores Williams, Yourba Batunga, Emory Biko, James “Jam” Hough, and Teenie Harris. There will be a new exhibit on the next three Saturday nights. 6 to 9 p.m. John A. Hermann Memorial Art Museum, 318 Lincoln Avenue, Bellevue. (R.H.)
