Comedian Kevin Nealon brings his stand-up act to the City Winery tonight. He is best known for his nine-year stint as a cast member on NBC’s long-running comedy show “Saturday Night Live,” where he was in the coveted Weekend Update anchor spot and portrayed one half (Franz) of the dynamic duo of Pumping Up with Hans & Franz. Nealon won critical praise for his role as Doug Wilson, an outrageous character who always seems to land on his feet in the Showtime TV series “Weeds.”
He has also teamed up with former “SNL” cast member Adam Sandler to work on several movies, including Blended, Happy Gilmore, The Wedding Singer, Anger Management, and You Don’t Mess With the Zohan. Nealon’s comedy style is often understated, like eating a spicy hot dish—you may not feel the burn right away, then it hits you full force. Another big success was his starring role on the CBS sitcom, “Man With a Plan.” He currently produces and hosts his digital series “Hiking with Kevin.” 6:30 p.m. tonight; 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday. 1627 Smallman St., Strip District.
