The weather is hot and so is Sister Maripat Donovan (Kimberly Richards). Her relaxing vacation to the motherhouse has been sidetracked after the diocese has decided to hold a summer catechism session for the students who goofed off all year. In the performance she will try to answer pressing religious questions like, “Did Jesus have to go to summer school? Or “What is an appropriate summer vacation for a practicing Catholic?” Hijinx is sure to ensue. Performances of Sister’s Summer School Catechism: God Never Takes a Vacation! run through June 30. At the end of each performance, a collection is taken to support the retired nuns at Little Sisters of the Poor and Sisters of Divine Providence. Over $400,000 has been raised by audiences attending Late Nite Catechism over the years. In the Lillie Theatre at City Theatre. 7 p.m. ASL performance tonight. 1300 Bingham St., South Side. (R.H.)
