1) The Pens face off against the Washington Capitals tonight in an 8 p.m. playoff game at the Consol Energy Center. Our young goalies—Murray and Zatkoff—are doing their best to put up a defensive wall in front of the net, but let’s hope starter Marc-Andre Fleury returns in good health soon. Let’s go Pens! 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.
2) Our battlin’ Buccos get started a little earlier in the evening than the Pens and battle National League Central Division rivals, the Chicago Cubs. At press time the Cubs are leading the Division and the Pirates are right behind them in second place. 7:05 p.m. PNC Park, 115 Federal St., North Shore.
3) The Balcony Big Band, with a special guest, is hitting only high notes in a Monday night performance at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille. The 18 member group makes a big, beautiful sound. Get in some Monday relaxation with good music. 7 p.m. No cover. 285 Northgate Dr., Warrendale.
