Sebadoh in Concert at Stage AE; Park House Bluegrass Jam w/Shelf Life String Band (Wed., 5/22/19)

1) Sebadoh will perform at Mr. Smalls Theatre. The band is fronted by Dinosaur Jr. bassist Lou Barlow. Sebadoh is recognizable for its lo-fi sound, which characterized many ’80s and ’90s indie-rock bands. You can hear that sound on songs such as “Rebound.” The trio’s latest album is this year’s Act Surprised. FLOWER opens. 8 p.m. 400 Lincoln Ave., Millvale. (CM)

2) Check out the Bluegrass Jam at the Park House, which bills itself as Pittsburgh’s oldest and friendliest tavern. The Shelf Life String Band hosts this weekly event where you can relax and enjoy the music or join the jam. Either way, Yuengling pints are only $2 from 9 p.m. to midnight. Jam starts at 9 p.m.  Enjoy complimentary peanuts and popcorn. 403 E. Ohio St., North Side.
