If you were a fan of the ’80s NBC hit TV show “Family Ties,” then you know Meredith Baxter and Michael Gross played Elyse and Steven Keaton. Now they are appearing together in The Public Theater’s production of Love Letters. The A.R. Gurney play is about love and friendship. The story is told through a lifetime of love letters by the characters Melissa Gardner and Andrew Makepeace Ladd III. They started writing letters to one another at a very young age, and have opened their souls to one another over the years. Love Letters has a limited run at The Public, July 20 to 24 only. 8 p.m. The O’Reilly Theater, 621 Penn Ave., Cultural District.
