Two-day Millvale Music Festival Kicks Off; St. Nicholas Greek Food Festival Continues (Fri., 5/17/24)

1) The free Millvale Music Festival returns for an annual showcase of myriad local musicians, who will play indoor venues, like Mr. Smalls, and outdoor venues, like the GAP Park. Acts include Liz Berlin, Gene the Werewolf, Dumplings, Feralcat and the Wild, ALLISSA, Big Blitz, Black Ridge, Fuck Yeah, Dinosaurs!, Eagleburger Band,  Miss Freddye’s Band, PSO Musicians Octet, The Nied’s Hotel Band, and Timbeleza with The Pittsburgh Samba Group. Also Amoeba Knievel, Full Fat, Intoxicated Zen, Mister Strawberry, Oppenheimer Parachute, Subarctic Beach Party, and Unwanted Downfall. Many visual artists, comedians, and spoken word artists/poets will also participate in the festival and have their works on display/perform. 2) Moussaka, pastitsio, spanakopita, and baklava are all beautiful-sounding Greek (food) words that will be spoken today through Saturday at the 61st annual Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral Food Festival in Oakland. In addition to the food, they’re offering Greek wine, coffee, music, and dancing. And there’s plenty of delicious Greek pastries including baklava. Check their website for hours and information S.
