Now until January 7, Braddock’s Rebellion, the cozy bar and eatery at the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel on Sixth Street, Downtown, is wishing you a “Merry Little Christmas” with a vintage holiday menu of classic cocktails and tasty apps. Featured are four cocktails to sip while relaxing mid-shopping or after. A Cranberry Old Fashioned or Mistletoe Martini will give you a warm and welcome moment to check your naughty-or-nice list, while a Frostbite (made with tequila and minty liqueurs) or The Holiday Cocktail (comprised of vodka, aperol, fresh lemon and a flower garnish) will lend some cheer to your busy day. Specialty appetizers, like French Dip sliders, crab and artichoke dip or deviled eggs with horseradish and pickle relish, will treat your tastebuds.
Guests at a special preview party were overjoyed with the holiday offerings. Asked why all the special attention at this busy time of year, Renaissance Pittsburgh Executive Chef, Nick Saxon, answered, “Some cool cocktails and creative food is our contribution to help draw people downtown.” Indeed, on Sixth Street, even at less than freezing temperatures, snow is flying outside Braddock’s Rebellion. Inside, to help kick off the Pop-Up Preview, Santa arrived amidst the happy crowd of taste samplers. Future appearances by the jolly old elf are not guaranteed, but the drinks and hearty treats will be flowing forth as Christmas 2023 ushers downtown Pittsburgh into the new year. Braddock’s Rebellion at the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel, 107 Sixth Street, Downtown.
