Pittsburgh Brewing Holding Two-day Regatta on Allegheny River at Company HQ

The saying in Pittsburgh used to be “You gotta regatta!,” unfortunately the saying died out with the last run of the Pittsburgh Regatta in 2018 due to financial conditions. The Pittsburgh Regatta is allegedly returning for this year (let’s hope so), however Pittsburgh Brewing Company, purveyors of fine locally-made craft beers and who are also making a wave in the entertainment and event business is not waiting around to see. They have recognized a void in the Pittsburgh area for a similar event and have produced, and will host, the inaugural Rockin’ Regatta: A Thrilling Weekend of Powerboat Racing and Live Music! at their headquarters on the river in Creighton on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8.
Rockin’ Regatta features powerboat races from Three Rivers Outboard Racing Association
(TRORA), live music, food trucks, family fun, a cornhole tournament, rock wall climbing, horses, and a fireworks display on Saturday night. And of course, fresh craft beers and PBC summer sips. This year’s commemorative Regatta can design was created by Pittsburgh-based artist Vinnie Candelore
of VC2art.

APBA-sanctioned boat races in several classes will have competitors navigating a .9-mile counterclockwise course that starts and ends in front of Pittsburgh Brewing Company. Additionally, you can get a close-up look at vintage and modern outboards, river races, and demonstrations. Look for more river-oriented activities to be announced soon.
Bands and performers will be on the stage at Pittsburgh Brewing Companies’ great lawn at the Allegheny River. Saturday’s schedule is: Lenny Collini: 12: 30 – 3 p.m., High Fidelity: 3 – 5:30 p.m., and Casual Affair: 6 – 9 p.m. The musical performances will be followed by fireworks at 9 p.m. Sunday features: Mia Z: 1 -2 p.m., Family Tradition 2:30 – 4:30 p.m., and Peace Love Band 5 – 7 p.m.
“This event captures the essence of Pittsburgh and showcases the beauty of our rivers” said Todd Zwicker, President at Pittsburgh Brewing Company. “From the roar of the engines to the pulse of live music, the Rockin’ Regatta is an experience like no other.”
Come for the powerboat racing, stay for the beer, food, and fun. For more information and tickets visit the Rockin’ Regatta Web page. Regatta hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday. Pittsburgh Brewing Company, 150 Ferry Street, Creighton.
