Kevin Hart Brings ‘Brand New Material’ to the Benedum; Last Day for Steel City Con in Monroeville (Sun., 4/14/24)

1) Kevin Hart, one of the hottest comedians in the country right now, will be performing at Benedum Center tonight on his Brand New Material tour. The Philadelphia native is a star of stage, screen, and yes even the book shelves. His film credits include: Ride Along, Ride Along 2, and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, with Jack Black and Dewayne “The Rock” Johnson. Hart was also one of the Shark investors on the ABC TV show “Shark Tank.” Another TV show credit was “Real Husbands of Hollywood” on which he played himself. Hart’s book, I Can’t Make This Stuff Up: Life Lessons, debuted at number one on the New York Times Bestseller List when it was released in 2017. Hart is a recipient of the Kennedy Center’s annual Mark Twain Prize for American Comedy . He was the youngest awardee for the prize ever. 7 p.m. 237 7th St., Cultural District.

2) One of the country’s biggest comic cons is occurring this weekend at the Monroeville Convention Center. The Steel City Con features 750 vendor tables, an artist alley, celebrity guests, celebrity Q & A’s, panels, celebrity photo ops, and the Artist Charity Quick Sketch. And if that’s not enough you can also take part in the Steel City Con’s cosplay, trivia contest and costume contests. The Con will be burning bright with celebrities including a The Breakfast Club reunion with Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson, Anthony Michael Hall, and Ally Sheady. Additionally there will be a “Beverly Hills, 90201” TV show reunion with most of the main cast members. Certain celebrities appear on certain days. See the schedule on the website.
