Frankie Valli and Four Seasons at Heinz Hall; Wild Earth Music, Art & Culture Festival (Sat, 4/20/24)

1) It’s true: Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons are on tour. And if reading that sentence makes you feel lost in a time warp, it’s understandable. Valli is due to turn 90 in May. Pianist/songwriter Bob Gaudio, the other surviving original member of The Four Seasons, is merely 81 but stopped performing with the group long ago (though he remains involved offstage). All of the group’s legendary songs—from “Sherry” to “Walk Like a Man” to you-name-it—are now history, along with Valli’s many solo ventures. The boys are in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and the bio-musical about their rise to fame, Jersey Boys, is legendary in its own right. However, the final chapter of this history hasn’t been written quite yet. Valli and The Four Seasons’ current lineup visit Heinz Hall on what’s been dubbed The Last Encores tour. Tickets are scarce and probably pricey. Which has never stopped a true fan, because if you’ve gotta be there, you’ll be there! 8 p.m. 600 Penn Ave., Cultural District. (M.V.)

2) Nearly 55 years ago, the first Earth Day was celebrated throughout the country. Then proposed by Gaylord Nelson, a U.S. Senator representing Wisconsin, Earth Day is today a national celebration of environmental awareness, sustainability and conscientious practices recognizing our fragile planet. On Saturday, April 20, in Pittsburgh, come celebrate the upcoming Earth Day with Wild Earth Music Art, and Culture Festival at the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium. The event is presented by Pittsburgh Earth Day and The Green Voice. The celebration of our glorious planet will include live bands, educational booths, and creative activities for kids and adults. Beginning at 10 a.m., DJ SMI with artist Kevin Wenner will warm up the festivities followed by the MIA Z. Band at 11:30 and the Good Karma Band at 1 p.m.. Headlining the musical fun is Jim Donovan & Sun King Warriors at 2:30. Visit sponsor booths, make some art, and embrace the eco-diversity of our one blue planet with awe-inspiring visits to all the “natural” habitats and their plentiful animals. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking is free with regular admission. Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium, 1 Wild Place (7370 Baker Street), Highland Park. (C.P.O)
