Blink-182 Plays PPG Paints Arena; Dan Wilson and Special Guests Play Stevie Wonder at O’Reilly Theater (Wed., 5/17/23)

1)Blink-182 formed in Poway, California in 1992 as Blink and part of the skate music scene. The trio scored a breakthrough record with 1999’s pop-punk masterpiece, Enema of the State. The members disbanded in 2005, regrouped in 2009, and then have had various lineups ever since. Co-founder and vocalist Tom DeLonge returned to the band in 2022. The year was also a return to the high charts for the group as their song “Edging” reached positions of the Billboard 100 blink-182 hadn’t seen in many years. Catch blink-182 at PPG Paints Arena with special guest Turnstile. 7:30 p.m. 1001 Fifth Ave., Uptown.

2) Akron native and noted jazz guitarist Dan Wilson Wilson has played with many jazz greats including Eric Marienthal, Russell Malone, Les McCann, René Marie, Jeff Hamilton, David Sanborn and Dave Stryker. He’s also a bigtime fan of the amazing Stevie Wonder. Now Wilson has created a celebration of some of Wonder’s masterpieces from many different periods in his career. Highlighting Stevie’s impact on music along with Dan includes vocalists Nigel Hall (Lettuce), Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band, Phish), Nicole Zuraitis, Durrell Legrair, and several other very talented musicians. You can enjoy this “Wonder-full” night of music by Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and BNY Mellon Presents JazzLive at the O’Reilly Theater 8 p.m. 621 Penn Ave., Cultural District.
