Brit Floyd Brings P-U-L-S-E Show to Benedum (Cool Picks 3/2/13)

1) The British Pink Floyd tribute show Brit Floyd that started in Liverpool, England in 2011, returns to the states for a new tour. Their latest show is called P-U-L-S-E, short for The Pink Floyd Ultimate Light & Sound Experience. P-U-L-S-E is a three-hour show featuring note for note performances of Pink Floyd’s top album sides including: Wish You Were HereAnimalsThe WallThe Division Bell and Dark Side of the Moon. 8 p.m. Benedum Center. 237 7th St., Cultural District.

2) Comedy from the Darker Side of Life, a comedy event featuring Alex Stypula (Winner of Gilda’s Club 2012 search for Pittsburgh’s Funniest Comic)  is happening tonight at Club Cafe. Also generating laughs are Shannon Norman (Stiffy The Clown), James J. Hamilton and John Dick Winters. Hosted by Ray Zawodni and Issac Kozell. 10:30 p.m. 56 S. 12th St., South Side.

3) Enjoy a blast of brass from the River City Brass Band. Their Celtic Connections concert is sure to get you in the mood for St. Patrick’s Day! No Celtic performance is complete without some smokin’ bagpipe serenades;  come join bagpipes and drummers from the Balmoral School of Piping and Drumming, and their compatriots from regional school bands. 7:30 p.m.  Palace Theatre. 21 W. Otterman St., Greensburg.

4) Pittsburgh Dance Council presents  Black Grace, a dance program from New Zealand by the country’s top choreographer, Neil leremia. Dances represent the rhythm, movement and culture of Pacific Island nations including Samoa. 8 p.m. Byham Theater. 101 6th St., Cultural District.
