1) Second City for President, a traveling production from the famous Chicago comedy troupe of the same name, brings political laughs to Pittsburgh Public Theater. Remember it’s better to laugh about politics than to cry! 8 p.m. Downtown.

2) The Pittsburgh Pirates are back from their West Coast vacation and ready to get down to business again. They face the Milwaukee Brewers tonight in a 7:05 p.m. game. PNC Park.

3) The Waterfront’s Summer Concert Series presents the Kardasz Duo in concert at the stage in Macy’s Courtyard next to Gran Agave. 6-8 p.m. Homestead. Free.

4) Duquesne University’s ambassadors of song and dance, The Tamburitzans, bring their ethnic dance routines and colorful costumes to the South Park Amphitheater as part of the Allegheny County Summer Concert Series. 7:30 p.m. Free.

5) Attention: There will be a Meeting of Important People and you’re invited! This talented, local indie/pop band is having a CD release party at Mr. Small’s Funhouse.  Other important people who will be there are: Pet Clinic, The Great Ants and Texture Ballet. 8 p.m. All ages. 400 Lincoln Avenue, Millvale.
