1) Back by popular demand is the play The Chief. The Pittsburgh Public Theater’s production is based on the real life of Arthur J. Rooney, Sr., the owner and founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rooney is played by the nationally known actor of stage and screen (and Pittsburgh native), Tom Atkins. This limited run of The Chief ends tomorrow. Rob Zellers and Gene Collier wrote the play, which is directed by Ted Pappas. 8 p.m. 621 Penn Ave., Downtown Cultural District.

2) All the fun and characters of Sesame Street are live and on stage at the Consol Energy Center for the production, Sesame Street Live: Elmo Makes Music. Big Bird, Abby Cadabby and many other favorite Sesame Street personalities will be on stage making beautiful sounds out of ordinary instruments. 10:30 a.m. & 6:30 p.m. Consol Energy Center. Uptown.

3) G. Love & Special Sauce play Stage AE tonight. G. Love, a Philly rock and hip-hop artist, is always a well received guest in the Pittsburgh music market. A couple top tracks for G. Love & Special Sauce are: “Fixin’ To Die,” and “Milk and Sugar.” Opening are Swear and Shake. 8 p.m. North Shore.

4) James Street Gastropub has two floors of blues tonight. In their Speakeasy Lounge Muddy Kreek Blues Band will be performing. In James Street’s Second floor ballroom you can dance to the Sweaty Betty Blues Band. Both shows run from 8 p.m. to midnight. 422 Foreland St., North Side.
