1) Local pop singer B.E. Taylor is in concert tonight at Heinz Hall. Taylor and his band bring a bold, new energy to holiday standards for a night of peace, love and music. There’s also a performance tomorrow night, 7:30 p.m. 600 Penn Ave., Downtown Cultural District.

2) The Grammy-Award winning Pacifica Quartet plays Carnegie Music Hall tonight as part of the Pittsburgh Chamber Music Society’s concert series. The ensemble is the quartet-in-residence at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the University of Illinois. Recognized for virtuosity and an exuberant style, they will be performing selected compositions from classical icons Beethoven, Janacek, and Smetana. 7:30 p.m.

3) The Balcony Big Band takes the stage at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille tonight, after a 10 year hiatus, producing a wall of solid jazz sounds that will have everyone foot tappin’ and in no particular hurry.  No cover. 8 p.m. 103 Slade Lane, Warrendale.

4) This week’s featured jazz artist at “Savoy Jazz Mondays” is the legendary jazz vocalist Michele Bensen. Roger Humphries and his trio are the friendly hosts of this weekly event at Savoy Restaurant. 5-9 p.m. No cover. 2623 Penn Ave., Strip District.
