Cool Picks Sunday November 25, 2012

Cool Picks brings you the best in Pittsburgh entertainment every day!

1) The Brian Setzer Orchestra are in town tonight as part of their 2012 Christmas Rocks! Extravaganza tour. Setzer is a multi-Grammy, award-winning, innovative musician. He revived the rockabilly genre in the 1980s with “Stray Cats” and brought back swing music with his orchestra in the 1990s.  Now Setzer seeks to update Christmas music for a new generation. 7:30 p.m. Carnegie Library Music Hall. 510 E. 10th Ave., Munhall.

2) Hometown guy Charlie Batch gets another long overdue opportunity to sling the pigskin for our hometown football club, The Steelers. A great place to check out the game is Carson City Saloon. They feature game day specials including a Jagermeister Takeover, which occurs when one randomly selected table in the bar is picked to be swarmed by Jager Girls bearing Jagermeister samples and prize giveaways. 12-2 p.m. 1401 E. Carson St., South Side

3) Another “Cool Pick” at Carson City Saloon today: Tony Janflone, Jr., rock and blues guitar virtuoso, playing live from 5:45-9:30 p.m. 1401 E. Carson St., South Side.

4) The Steel Cactus on Walnut Street (2nd and 3rd floors above Victoria’s Secret) is open for Sunday Brunch from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m. (perfectly timed to get you filled up and out before the Steelers game). Their a la carte brunch menu includes Huevos Rancheros, Spicy Southwest Omelet, “Build Your Own Breakfast Burrito,” Breakfast Nachos, Steak and Eggs, Banana Pancakes, French Toast, with eggs, bacon, and sausage.  “Salud!” with a Bloody or bottomless Mimosas. 5505 Walnut St., Shadyside.
