Cool Picks Sunday November 4, 2012

Cool Picks brings you the best in Pittsburgh entertainment every day!

1) The Del McCoury Band (bluegrass) play the American Mountain Theater in Elkins, West Virginia. The concert has not been postponed despite all of the snow that fell in the mountains here this past week. Nothing like some great guitar, mandolin, banjo, fiddle and bass music to lift the spirits after hurricane Sandy passed over. 8 p.m. 49 Martin St., Elkins, WV.

2) If you want to run away with the circus, tomorrow is your day.  If your desire is to see the “Greatest Show on Earth,” today is the last day for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus’ “Fully Charged” production in Pittsburgh. 1 & 5 p.m. Consol Energy Center, Uptown.

3) With our beloved Steelers taking on the defending Super Bowl champs, the New York Giants in NYC, a cool place to watch the game is the Jerome Bettis Grille 36. Like some type of weird, Chinese feng shui run amok, the number “36” keeps repeating itself at the Jerome Bettis Grille: 36+14 state-of-the-art, high def, flat-screen TV monitors placed strategically throughout the bar and restaurant; 36 oz. bone-in NY strip steaks; 36 beers on tap; 36 different types of bottled beers from around the world; 36 great wines; 36 unique speciality drinks and martinis. 393 North Shore Drive, North Side. Editors Note: For those of you new to Pittsburgh from overseas, Jerome Bettis is a former Steelers star whose number was “36.”

4) Family of the Year (acoustic pop/rock) is performing tonight with special guests Polaris B and That Girl at the Shadow Lounge. 6:30 p.m. 5972 Baum Blvd., East Liberty.
