Cool Picks Tuesday June 19, 2012

1) BNY Mellon presents Jazz Live in the Cultural District. Kenia performs a free show from 5-7 pm at Katz Plaza, 655 Penn Ave. Downtown.

2) “One Singular Sensation” is a great number from the CLO’s current production, A Chorus Line. A Chorus Line was written by the legendary Marvin Hamlish (who also conducts the Pittsburgh Symphony’s Pops series). The play won a Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize. The production runs through June 24th.

3) Children (and adults) of the Korn will flock to Stage AE North Shore for the frenetic jubilee of a live, outdoors Korn performance. Opening acts include Sluggo and J. Devil. Gates open at 6:30 pm.

4) Minnesotan band, The Pines, perform their popular brand of American, indy-pop rock tonight at Club Cafe on the South Side. Ghost Estate is the special guest. Show starts at 8 pm.

5) The American Jewish Museum at the JCC in Squirrel Hill is exhibiting artist’s illustrations from some of the 83 books written by the noted Yiddish American writer, Issac Bashevis Singer.
