1) Pittsburgh born Kevin Howard, talented  jazz keyboardist, is the featured performer at the Cultural Trust  BNY Mellon JazzLive. Catch him today at Theater Square’s Backstage Bar. 5-7 p.m. No cover. 655 Penn Ave., Downtown Cultural District.

2) Vallozzi’s Pittsburgh has opened in the past several months in a beautifully refurbished building on downtown’s lower Fifth Avenue. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. Italian fare includes their trademark pizza, crab cakes, risotto, beef braciole, lemon chicken, gnocchi, ravioli. There’s also a fine selection of wines, digestifs, coffees and desserts. Reservations suggested. 220 Fifth Ave., Downtown.

3) David Throckmorton Trio is playing the “The Space Exchange Series” at the Thunderbird Cafe in the ‘Ville (Lawrenceville).  The new trio includes Throckmorton on drums, with guitarist Chris Parker and bass player Jeremy McDonald, exploring new dimensions of  hip-hop, jazz and rock. 9 p.m. No cover. 4023 Butler St.

4) Billy’s Roadhouse Bar & Grille presents the respected pop-rock duo Pete Hewlett and Scott Anderson playing some acoustic sets. Have some dinner and a cocktail,  and listen to some great music. 5-7:30 p.m. No cover. 10150 Old Perry Hwy., Wexford.
