1) People are off to see “The Wiz” tonight, Wiz Khalifa that is. Khalifa, a Pittsburgh Taylor Allderdice High School graduate (his group is called Taylor Gang), rose to entertainment heights after paying his dues and refining his rap skills. One of his best known songs is “Black and Yellow,” a tribute to Pittsburgh and its sports culture. CONSOL Energy Center. 7:30 p.m., Uptown.

2) Gavin DeGraw, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, Hedley and The Cab are in town tonight as part of the Holiday Q Ball at Stage AE. DeGraw is a popular singer/ songwriter with songs like “Chariot”and “Follow Through.”  Grace Potter & the Nocturnals actually played a free concert at Hartwood Acres in recent years, a rising rock band that’s starting to get a lot of notice. Their song “Treat Me Right” garnered much indy radio air play when it “dropped.” Other hits include “Paris” and a great rendition of Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit.” 400 North Shore.

3) Pittsburgh blues rocker Shari Richards performs at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille as part of a local event tied into the national 12/12/12 The Concert for (Hurricane) Sandy Relief. 8 p.m. No Cover. 103 Slade Lane, Warrendale.

4) At NOLA on the Square tonight, Billy The Kid & The Regulators bring their Americana music to the patrons of NOLA. 8 p.m. No cover. 24 Market Square, Downtown.
