1) Disney on Ice skates into town tonight with their Treasure Trove show. Kids (and parents) are sure to enjoy all the Disney magic with many of the most popular Disney characters including: Rapunzel, Cinderella, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, Captain Hook, Peter Pan. Alice & the Madhatter.  7 p.m. Runs through Sunday. Consol Energy Center, Uptown.

2) The Benny Benack Trio lays down some sizzling jazz tracks in Pittsburgh’s French Quarter, NOLA on the square. 8 p.m. 24 Market Square, Downtown.

3) Zero Dark Thirty, the movie detailing the CIA’s tracking  and Navy SEALs  killing of America’s No. 1 enemy, Osama bin Laden, is screening at local theaters. Part documentary, part fictionalized drama, the movie is the latest from director/producer Kathryn  Bigelow, who’s other war movie The Hurt Locker, was also a big success. Zero Dark Thirty has garnered 5 Academy Award nominations including one for “Best Picture.” Cast includes Jessica Chastain,  Joel Edgerton and Kyle Chandler (the football coach in the TV series Friday Night Lights).

4) If you live a little farther out from the city center and wish to ice skate in a sylvan setting, then Allegheny County’s North and South Park’s ice skating rinks are “your ticket to fun!”  The rinks offer both free and paid skating lessons, as well as skate rentals. Today’s sessions are from: 9 – 11 a.m., noon – 3 p.m.; 4:30-7 p.m. and 7:30-10 p.m. North Park rink is on Pearce Mill Road; South Park rink is on Buffalo Drive.
