Cool Picks Wednesday June 20, 2012

1) Acoustic troubadour James Taylor will play some beautiful songs from his great catalog of hits. Show starts at 8 pm at Peterson Events Center on the Pitt campus.

2) Stage AE hosts power pop band Nada Surf in an intimate club setting style show.

3) Sierra Leone’s Refugee All-Star band, though born out of the horrors of war, perform songs full of hope and joy. The band plays an 8 pm show at South Side’s Rex Theater.

4) “I Just Want to Watch: Warhol’s Film, Video and Television,” is the name of an ongoing exhibition at the Andy Warhol Museum that showcases a wide variety of Warhol’s electronic productions. Exhibit can be viewed daily during regular hours at the Andy Warhol Museum, North Shore. Follow the Andy Warhol Bridge from town.

5) Cafe Notte is featuring Pittsburgh greats, Pete Hewlett & Scott Anderson (who you may remember from WQED musical specials,) performing outdoors on the patio from 6:30 to after 10 pm. It’s also Wine Down Wednesdays with half-off fifteen select bottles of wine. Ohio River Blvd., Emsworth.
