Valastro will entertain you with family tales and traditions, straight from Carlo’s Bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey.  Along with all of the fun, he’ll demonstrate the cake making and decorating techniques that have made him (with credit to his team) the most famous “cake artist” in the country. 7:30 p.m.  Penn Ave. & Seventh St., Downtown Cultural District.

2) A Grand Night for Singing, a Tony Award-nominated “Best Musical,” Broadway tribute to Rodgers & Hammerstein (one of America’s greatest composing duos), is the current production of the  Pittsburgh CLO. The show highlights the enduring power of romance and love. Enjoy food and drinks served at your table pre-performance in the Cabaret Theater at Theater Square. 7:30 p.m. 655 Penn Ave., Downtown Cultural District.

3) Also tonight at Theater Square is your chance to sing showtunes! Hello Donny: A Showtunes Sing-Along is just that. The sing-along is hosted by a local performer (as MC), and a pianist. 4) Tonight at the North Side’s venerable Park House is their Wednesday Night Bluegrass Jam with members of the Shelf Life String Band. Relax, enjoy the great jam and a pint of Yuengling draft for only $2. 9 p.m. – 12 a.m. No cover, free peanuts and popcorn. 403 E. Ohio St., North Side.
