Club Café Welcomes Jill Sobule (CPs Fri., 2/28/14)

1) Long before Katy Perry sang “I Kissed a Girl” and liked it, singer/songwriter Jill Sobule wrote about the same experience in a song with the same title. (Sobule was reported to not have been very happy Perry used the same title for her song.) Sobule has recorded seven albums over two decades and has performed with big names like Neil Young, Billy Bragg, and Cyndi Lauper. 7 p.m.  Club Café, 56-58 S. 12th St., South Side.

2) MCGJazz presents The Gentlemen Sing: Three Generations of Song with Allan Harris & Ernie Andrews. The show features noted jazz artists Harris and Andrews along with a new talent discovered in a nationwide search; all will perform in concert this evening. 7 p.m. 1815 Metropolitan St., Manchester.

3) Get your feet moving at Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s Salsa Fridays. Enjoy a free salsa dance lesson (included in the $5 admission) from 10-10:30 p.m.; then dance to salsa music from DJ Paul Mitchell until 1:30 a.m.  Late night happy hour, 9-11 p.m. Food and drink service available. 655 Penn Ave., Cultural District.

4) Good Fridays at the Warhol is a weekly party at the museum, featuring art exhibits, music, and cocktails in the high temple to Andy Warhol’s numerous talents. Half-price museum admission. 5 – 10 p.m. 117 Sandusky St., North Shore.
