Christopher Titus at Improv; Pirates Take on Cubs (CPs Fri., 9/12/14)

1) Christopher Titus is bringing new material to a show titled Angry Pursuit of Happiness at the Pittsburgh Improv for a three-day run. Some may remember Titus from his Fox TV show “Titus,” which ran from 2000-02. He’s been featured on several Comedy Central specials and appeared in TV shows and movies, including the film Killer Klowns From Outer Space. Titus sums up his disappointment with the present on his website: “2014! Really? I remember being a kid and looking forward to flying cars and robot butlers, Terminators coming back from the future and dating a cyborg who never said “No.” But here we are, war is still legal and you can get guns at the same place you can buy pork rinds and 4 dollar American flag shirts made in China.” Catch some laughs and cultural insights at the same time. 8 and 10:30 p.m., runs through Sunday. 166 E. Bridge St. The Waterfront, Homestead.

2) Pirates take on the Chicago Cubs in a 7:05 p.m. game that’s also a Free Shirt Friday (for the first 25,000 fans). There’s a Block Party on Federal Street that starts at 5:30 p.m. with food and beverage specials, live music, and alumni appearances at the Budweiser Bar. 115 Federal St., North Shore.

3) Dancing Queen will put people on the dance floor at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille. The disco/funk band takes the stage at 9 p.m. 285 Northgate Dr., Warrendale.

4) Good Fridays at the Warhol is a weekly party at the museum, featuring art exhibits, music, and cocktails in the high temple to Andy Warhol’s numerous talents. Half-price museum admission. 5 – 10 p.m. 117 Sandusky St., North Shore.
