Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage at Stage AE (CPs Mon., 11/25/13)

1) Lamb of God makes an appearance at Stage AE tonight. If you’re thinking it sounds like a good Christian rock band, you’re wrong. Lamb of God is an accomplished heavy metal band from Richmond, Va., that was formed in 1990. The band combines doomful/downbeat lyrics and vocals with a rhythmic, hard-driving metal music carrier. Album titles include New American Gospel, Burn the Priest, and Walk With Me in Hell. Co-headlining the show is Killswitch Engage, a metalcore band formed by members of Overcast and Aftershock. Opening are Testament and Huntress. Doors open at 6 p.m. 400 North Shore Dr., North Shore.

2) Savoy Restaurant’s Savoy Jazz Mondays continues tonight with Tony Campbell Jazz Surgery featuring Fred Pugh. 6 – 10 p.m. No cover. 2623 Penn Ave., Strip District.

3)  Check out new and established talent at one of the city’s best open stage nights, Club Café’s AcoustiCafé. Max Somerville is the host of this  supportive and friendly event. No cover. 7 p.m. 56-58 S. 12th St., South Side.

4) It’s Global Mondays at Cappy’s Café in Shadyside with imported bottled beers for only $3. While there, team up an import with a bowl of their scrumptious chili. 5431 Walnut St.
