The Summer Set and We Are the In Crowd at Altar (CP’s Mon. 3/11/13)

1) The Summer Set and We Are the In Crowd are headlining a show at Altar Bar. A pop rock band from Phoenix, Arizona, The Summer Set is touring in support of their latest release Legendary. We Are the In Crowd is a pop punk band from Poughkeepsie, New York. Also on the bill are GO RADIO and Fox The Foxes. 7 p.m. 1620 Penn Ave., Strip District.

2) Savoy Restaurant’s Savoy Jazz Monday’s continues tonight with host band, Roger Humphries Trio and featured jazz artists, Charlie G and Lou Stellute, vocalist and tenor saxophone. 5 – 9 p.m. No cover. 2623 Penn Ave., Strip District.

3) Another trio, the Michael Musillami Trio,  is also playing great music a little farther up river at Lawreceville’s Thunderbird Cafe.  Downbeat magazine called Musillami “a superior guitarist.” The jazz trio begins at 8 p.m. 4023 Butler St.

4) Continuing a great night of jazz in the ‘burg is The Balcony Big Band  who will be hitting only high notes in a performance at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille. 8 p.m. No cover. 285 Northgate Dr., Warrendale.
